Artist Model – a unique way of earning extra money.

Now, some people will go to any lengths to clear debt and credit to them.

This type of part time work is certainly out of the norm but it is work nevertheless!

Definitely, being an artist model would not be for me unless the art colleges were looking for a fully clothed and made-up model but, if you have no qualms about standing in the nude, or scantly clad for many hours, then this is one way of earning extra money which might suit you.

There are many colleges who pay a reasonable hourly rate in order that their armature artists gain the experience they need from drawing still life … your still life.

“Once I posed naked on a few occasions for a very close friend and this gave me the confidence to respond to an advertisement for a school who were looking for a model to pose live. I got the job and before attending was really anxious at the thought of doing this in front of strangers.

Before I started I practised some poses and timed them too, to see how long I would stay in one particular pose. When I got there and took my gown off, I was surprised to find that I totally relaxed and the two hour session just flew by. I really think that preparing in advance helped.

Now I do this on a regular basis for the college and am completely at ease with it.”

This may not be the sort of earning extra money idea you had in mind … but being an artist model will suit someone, somewhere!
